The camp is
organized in collaboration with an orphanage in Timisoara and the aim of
the camp is to provide animation for the children of the orphanage (mostly
boys ages from 5 to 17) for the 10 days in which they will be away for
the summer holidays. In the first 4 days of the camp the volunteers will
get to know the children in their own envinronment and will visit relevant
NGO's in the field
W: organizing
games,sports competitions, basic English lessons, etc.
A: in the same
place as the children but in separate rooms bring sleeping bag;hot water.
S: the situation
of institutionalised children in Romania.
Q: skills in
working with, sometimes difficult, children, availability to work anytime
during the day; we expect very motivated volunteers.
X: the camp
has been held for 4 years and volunteers from precedent years will be present
this time as well.

Timisoara

This is a special
program with small children(3 years old) in collaboration with the Timis
County Agency for Child Protection. All volunteers must be highly motivated
and have experience. They will have to send, 1 month before the camp,
a CV and a motivation letter (details will be sent in the infosheet).
In the first week of the camp the volunteers will be introduced to the
situation of institutionalised children in Romania and will have to take
an medical examination in a hospital in Timisoara.
W: taking care
of the children, games, specific activities in collaboration with the Agency's
workers.
A: in a youth
hostel in the center of Timisoara.
Q: qualification
in working with small children is welcome and encouraged.

Habitat for
Humanity

The local partner
is the Cluj branch of Habitat for Humanity. Their main activity is to build
houses for families in financial difficulty only with the help of volunteers.

The partener
for this camp is the Center for Rural Assistance in Timsoara. They have
a network of rural centers called TeleCenters and the aim of these centers
is to revive the life of local communities in the villages of Timis
County.

the Timis river with the children from the village, work for the
CARITAS Ciacova Foundation and for the local school etc

WORK: The participants
will work with the local organisations. Romanian Film Director and his
team will teach the participants how to make movies. The participants will
be directly involved on the production of the movie and will also act.
The main theme will be the life in the Delta of Danube.

WORK : The volunteers
will collect the litter left by the mountain hikers and will paint
tourist marks
on the old paths. The Bucegi Mountains that are aimed as target area of
this camp are
one of the most spectacular alpine landscapes of the Romania. Apart the
breathtaking
views the area is rich in cultural spots, such as the summer residence
of the
Romanian royal
house or a XVII century monastery. Friendly people, lots of sunshine and
great fun are
also guaranteed.

is situated in the middle of the Carpathian Mountains and is one of the
most important summer and winter destinations for turists.

WORK: The location
of this work camp was chosen because of the extreme poverty of the region,
where the miners families were affected because of the closing of the mines.
The volunteers will help with the renovation of a part of a school building.
ACCOMODATION:
In the Mining Institute campus.
LOCATION: Petrosani
is located in the middle of the Carpathian Mountains. Petrosani became,
after the closing of most the mines in the area one of the poorest cities
of Romania.

WORK: The volunteers
will help with the renovation of a part of the school building (classrooms,
laboratories etc.). Since the state provides very little money for the
disabled people, the Special School cannot afford major rebuilding work.
Therefore, YAP-Ro got involved in the renovation of the school.

LOCATION: Cluj
Napoca is one of the biggest cities of Romania, in the very hart of Transylvania.
The University of Cluj is the second big university in the country. It
ideally combines tradition (Napoca was a roman fortress) and modernity
(currently it is the financial center of Transylvania).

WORK: The volunteers
are supposed to clean the beach area near the river mouth, together with
local youngsters involved in community activity.
ACCOMODATION:
In the local high school dormitory. The high school kitchen will provide
food.
LOCATION: Sulina
is a former harbour in the Delta of the Danube World Natural Reserve, one
of the most beautiful areas of Romania. Nowadays it became remote because
of geographic changes.

WORK: Local
craftsman will introduce the participants to the creation and painting
of China objects. The participants will learn various manners of China
manufacturing. They will have the opportunity to visit the roman bath,
the nearby monastery, crafts centers. An exhibition with the objects created
by the participants will be organized in the City Park.
ACCOMODATION:
In a local hostel.
LOCATION: Teius
is a small town situated in the proximity of the Carpathian Mountains.
The city is famous for the surrounding forests and rivers and its monastic
life. The China Factory of Teius will provide the work environment.
FEE: 50 Euro
Youth Action
for Peace Romania will organise this year a national environmental campaign.
We already have a tradition organizing this type of projects, but we never
did it on national scale. We have chosen 7 of the most polluted cities
of the country, and we will have the support of the local people and the
local authorities.

is one of the oldest and nicest cities of Romania with history. The participants
to these projects will have to clean the parks from the city. They will
have the support of the locals.

WORK: Oradea
is one of the prettiest cities of Romania. Because of its location ( at
the Hungarian border) Oradea has an intensive traffic problem and a high
level of pollution. The participants will work in the park, cleaning them,
cutting the grass and planting flowers and threes.

WORK: Bucharest
is the capital of Romania and it’s population is more than 2 millions.
The City Hall can’t solve all the ecological problems. Our participants
will work in one of the biggest parks of the city. They will have to clean
the paths, paint the benches and plant trees.

In the University of Bucharest campus.
LOCATION: Bucharest
is situated in the south of Romania, close to the Black Sea, the Danube
and the Carpathian Mountains.

is considered one of the romanian cities with an important opening to the
new. The participants will work in a park and they will have to clean it

one of the most important industrial cities in Romania. Because of the
industrialization, in the last 20 years, the city has a high level of poluation.
