For the second
time in succession the workcamp will be held in the Marneuli district,
where the population is mostly represented by Azerbaijanians. Due to this
fact the participants of the workcamp will have chance to communicate with
both Georgians and Azeris, get acquainted with two cultures and witness
the cohabitation of two nations and religious: Orthodox and Muslim.
W: The participants
will work on the cleaning-restoration of the abandoned stadium. In future
the stadium will be used for training of Georgian and Azerbaijanian children.
S: Cultural
program with sightseeing and excursions, information about lifestyle of
Georgians and Azeris.
A: The volunteers
will be accommodated in a house specially rented for this purpose. The
house is equipped with toilet, shower and all convenient devises that are
necessary for self-cooking. The kitchen and the dining room are located
within the premises. The vegetarians should cook for themselves.
L: English,
Russian, Georgian, Azeri, Turkish.
X: Please,
bring with you swimming suit, working clothes and shoes, flashlight, sportswear
and lots of energy. Mat and sleeping bag are not needed. All participants
will be picked up at the Tbilisi Airport. Volunteers pay the way to the
camp and back – it will be around 10 USD altogether. Please, inform YGE
about the exact date and time of your coming.
