This workcamp will take place in the Raval, the immigrants area in the centre of Barcelona. This workcamp has been held since 1997 and aims to promote intercultural living. The association TEB aims to facilitate the integration of teenagers through the New Technologies use and learning.
W: to help the youngsters (12-16 years old) to work towards building their own homepage and taking part in different workshops: digital video, filming, creating web pages, introducing people into internet, etc. The hours can be very irregular, even in the evening, so flexibility is required in this respect.
Q: knowledge on Computers, web pages (Dream Weaver 4, Flash 5), video editing (Adobe Premiere 5.5) and image treatment (Corel Draw, Corel Photo Paint).

CAT 5.2 COOPERATIVA DEL RÍO I, Abioncillo (Soria) 1-30/7 4 vols
Some years ago, a semi-deserted village, with its cultural patrimony and great natural resources, was turned by Cooperativa del Rio into a school-village. Along the year, groups of children come to learn from the contact with nature and about the traditional ways of production and creation. In summer volunteers are therefore welcome to help carrying the program as part of the team.
W: daily tasks (helping in the kitchen, serving meals, cleaning), accompanying the children together with the local leaders in ecological and cultural trips. According to the vols skills, possibility of organising activities for children (bringing interculture into the program) or to collaborate in specific workshops as gardening, carpentry, etc
S: ideas for an alternative education. No problem for vegetarian.

CAT 5.4 CASAL DELS INFANTS DEL RAVAL 8-15/7 8 vols
This camp is taking place in one of the old Barcelona areas, the Raval, known for its immigration density. Since 1997 the association Casal dels Infants, dedicated to the non-formal Education field, held workcamps in order to mix the volunteers and local people (natives and immigrant) and so the richness of the different cultures they come from.
W: As the last year, the intention is to concentrate on the leisure time activities of the disadvantadged youngsters summer camp. We should be looking towards how cultural and lifestyles of immigrant children co-exist with Spanish/Catalan culture.

CAT 5.5 Aventura’t a la vall 1-12/8 3 vols
This workcamp is organized by the Association Vall del Corb which aims to dinamyze the social life of different villages that are located in the Corb Valley, between Lleida and Tarragona. One of its main activities is the summer camp for the children of the area.
W: to collaborate in the whole summer camp (5-11/8). This means leading together with the local  organizers, to prepare  leisure time activities as well as the group life tasks (e.g. cooking).
S: peace culture and environment discovery as themes of the children camp.
A: common shared space, bring sleeping-bag, vegetarians welcome.

CAT 5.6 Casal Menjador Bellvitge 1-19/7 4 vols
The Association La Vinya work in a depressed neighbourhood of Barcelona (Bellvitge) through specific projects that aim to promote the solidarity and integration of  the disadvantaged population and above all children. One of this social actions is the Casal Menjador, a summer camp for children.
W: to be part of the leaders team by meaning of accompanying and organizing the leisure time activities (games, workshops, ...) for the disadvantaged children who are from 3 to 10 years. The work timetable will probably be from 11 am to 18,30 pm.
S: getting to know the local areas and the educative and social actions.

CAT 6.1 DEPANA 1-15/8 15 vols
Depana is an environment association which aims to protect the natural patrimony of Catalunya. They do concrete work in the fields and campaigns to raise awareness about this natural richness and about the need to preserve it, as well as seminars, courses and educational activities . The workcamp will take part in the Lleida (Pallars) mountains to help the sustainable tourism.
W: restoration of traditional mountain paths, preparation of “direction signs”.
S: the nature diversity and the need of its conservation. Studying the flora and fauna of this concrete area. Possibility of collaborating with the locals in some activities.
A: in big rooms or a common space. Bring your sleeping bag. Ok for vegetarians.

CAT 6.2 LÍTHICA, Ciutadella de Menorca 15-24/7  10 vols
Líthica is an association that has developed an ambitious project to restore the “marès” quarries of the island.  Menorca is an island, which still preserves a great part of its natural areas and traditions.
W: Gardening work in a Botanical Circuit of the ancient quarries to preserve and develop new areas. Extracting sandstones, emptying old quarries, arranging and cleaning the stone quarries.
S: to raise the interest and beauty of the stone tradition.
A: big rooms with litters (bring your sleeping bag) and complete toilettes.

CAT 6.3 Cooperativa Aula Livingstone 1-15/7 15 vols
Aula Livingstone is a cooperative which aims to protect the natural patrimony through Environmental Education programes. Their main activities are training courses on ecology issues, stays in the nature for adults and children and edition of material about environment.  This year workcamp will be focused on the ecological wine production of La Rioja.
W: agricultural work on the vineyard fields and the process of the wine produce in the wine cellar.
S: the study part will be based on the wine production in La Rioja and the present problems of the  vineyards ecological agriculture.
A: families and private houses accomodation. A common space will be also settled for eating and leisure time. Sleeping bag is needed.

SCI-MADRID
MA 1.1 MEMORIA 36  El Bierzo (León) 2 weeks in July. 12 vols

During the Spanish Civil War, there were thousands of people executed without any trial and buried in collective graves. This was meant as pure repression to the civilians, in order to create a state of terror. More than 60 years after the war ended, many of those graves are still waiting to be open and investigated. The association Memoria 36 tries to recover the identity and give a dignified burial to the victims of that bloodshed. They also want to give voice to still living witnesses, who were forced to silence their awful experience and also raise the Spanish public awareness about an issue long ago forgotten.
W: the volunteers will collaborate with anthropologist and archaeologist excavating the collective graves. They will also have the opportunity to interview local witnesses and record their testimonies.

MA 4.1 VILLALBA (Madrid) 23/06-15/07 15 vols.

The town council of Villalba, a town 50km away from Madrid , holds a summer city camp for disabled  kids, who  find special difficulties  to spend their holiday time on their own.  This summer camp will give them a great opportunity to join free time activities, play games and make new friends while their parents are working. The children will go home in the afternoon . This is the second time this camp takes place, last year was a great success.
W: The volunteer together with a team of professionals will support the kids in their daily activities and needs within the camp. This is a demanding task, but also very rewarding. The kids are very lively and full of energy. The volunteers must be able to speak Spanish in order to be able to communicate with them. Experience in this specific educational field is welcome or at least motivation to learn. The first days there will be a training seminar.

MA 5.1 AXOUXERE   Meicende (A Coruna)  12/08-28/08 7 vols

The Youth Association Axouxere tries to promote and facilitate free time and cultural activities to the youth of Meicende since 1995. Every year they organise a summer city camp to give an opportunity to those who cannot afford going on holidays. They also want to stress the idea that there are hundreds of entertainment possibilities to be explored in their already known town. During the camp there will be lots of  games, sports, dances, theatre, puppets  and music workshops.
W: The vols will become part of the animators team. Therefore, skills and experience in some of the above mentioned activities and your willingness to share your time with the kids are needed. And most important, big amounts of energy, enthusiasm and good humour.
MA 6.1 LA SEMILLA   Bolonia (Cádiz) 24/04-08/05 8 vols.

La Semilla  is situated in a beautiful valley in front of the African coast. It is a small community with four adults and one baby living in an abandoned farm. The community  was born with the aim to rediscover a simple and  closest to the nature way of living, avoiding the waste of energy and natural resources. They  also want to develop  as a meeting-point  (seminars and workshops) for those interested in an alternative way of thinking. They also run a vegetarian restaurant on Sundays and sell their own home-made bread to finance their project. Using almost only traditional techniques and natural or recycled materials they have reconstructed the house.
W: The vols will help to construct some  shades  and give a hand in the orchard.
Other comments:  workshops on basket weaving, baking bread and storytelling.
MA 6.2 IXUXU Oviedo (Asturias) 02/08-16/08 10 vols.

Ixuxu is an association, which is trying to preserve ancient  Spanish varieties of vegetables and cattle,  doomed to extinction  in these days of gen technology. They also run environmental education activities  for children and workshops on the local  rural traditional culture. All the  activities take place at "Gaia" ,  a farm-school close to Oviedo.
W: The volunteers will help in the daily work of the farm.

MA 6.3 LA VERDE  Villamartín (Cádiz) 2 weeks in September 6 vols
Language: English - but knowledge of Spanish is very welcome!!
La Verde is an biological farm owned by the workers of a co-operative in the South of Spain. They see the co-operative as a way to struggle for a different kind of economy and society, while producing healthy food. The farm-products are mainly fruits and vegetables. They also carry out a research on biological seeds in collaboration with the University of Sevilla
W: The volunteers will help with different tasks on the farm like weeding, seeding or harvesting fruits. It is very important to be interested in ecological farming.
 Please note that the heat and the work are hard!

MA 6.4 SELBA    Artosilla  (Huesca)  23/06-07/07 6 vols

Selba is an association dedicated to promote the development of rural areas through a sustainable economy and life style. They organise training courses and seminars connected with these issues. All their activities take place in Artosilla, a small village in the Pyreneans, where they live. This village was on the verge of disappearance and abandonment some 15 years ago, due to the migration to the cities.
W: the volunteers will collaborate in the construction and betterment of the association's centre: a small dining room, showers and a compost toilet. There will be also another group of six volunteers from the association.
MA 8.1 BASIDA - ARANJUEZ ( Madrid ) 16/08-30/08 10 vols.

Basida is an association of volunteers that gives support to those recovering from drugs addiction problems and related illnesses, such as AIDS. They run a centre where 30 people live together trying to overcome their personal situation and also to look at life in a different and more positive way. They try to provide for a good atmosphere and to show that someone really cares, to those who for a long time  have only experienced social exclusion. There they have found a home and a family, where is possible to regain hope and self-steam. The place is a bit isolated, located some km away from Aranjuez, a nice historical town between Madrid and Toledo. Trips to both places are possible.
W: The volunteers will share the daily life in the Centre and give a hand in the maintenance of the place, workshops and activities. The Basida inmates really appreciate talking to visitors, (which is very enriching for both), therefore knowledge of Spanish is essential.
A: 2 big rooms with beds.
Most Important: no use of any kind of drug will be allowed (including alcohol and cigarettes). Motivation letter to prove interest in the subject required.

MA 11.2  O' PELOURO  Caldas de Tui (Orense) 01/07-14/07 14 vols

O'Pelouro is a school in a little village in Galicia  (Northwest of Spain) . It is unique for integrating all different kind of children (autistic, Down's, "normal"...) The approach is that every child is normal and that diversity is beautiful. To O' Pelouro also belongs a centre for rural tourism, as they would like to provide some job-opportunities to their former students. Their vision is to become a meeting-point for local development and global social movements.
W: The volunteers will build up a biological garden, this involves work with stones as well as with plants and water. You should be prepared for a lot of work! The camp is during school-holidays but some youth from O' Pelouro will work together with the volunteers. Volunteers with skills in gardening and construction are most welcome. This is also a place for sharing cultural expressions such as music, dance, art and cooking. The importance of having passion for what you do and your attitude to life is central in O Pelouro. Bring all your enthusiasm and will to change the world

RAI-SPAIN
CAT01 COOPERA BARCELONA BARCELONA 04/08 - 17/08 SOCIAL/RENO    25 VOLS
WORK: The city of Barcelona is a city with very important social inequalities where you can find houses without the minimum conditions to live in. This workcamp is about the rehabilitation of two flats on the old centre of Barcelona. This works will be carried out with the collaboration of Architects without Borders, Benestar Social and experts on the subject. It will be complementary activities (chats, conferences, discussions, audio-visual passes, etc.) in order to study in depth the causes, consequences and possible ways of resolution of the so-called 4th world.
Volunteers will work about 4 hours per day.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: The extra activities will be concentrated in the prospect of Barcelona in its social and artistic slope (museums, monuments, architecture...) mixed with games, sports and funny workshops.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants will be accommodated in a school in the centre of Barcelona.

CAT02 I.F.  Cantonigros Sta. Maria De Corco  Barcelona    12/07 - 25/07 FEST   25 VOLS
WORK: The Music Festival of Cantonigros is a great event of folklore, which attract during the month of July around two thousand people between audience and participants. Through this festival come and act musicians from 30 different countries. The work during the camp will consist of collaborating in the organisation and development of the 19th Festival. The participants have to mount and dismantle the installations to carry out the Festival and do the order services during the realisation.
Volunteers will work about 4 hours per day.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Excursions to discover the region and its cultural, natural and social way. They also will do an exchange of activities, funny workshop, and taking profit from the environment of the Festival, they will meet different cultures all over the world, going deeply into the coral music and on the typical dances of each country.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants will be installed in tents beside the musical campus.

CAT03 MONTSERRATMONISTROL (BARCELONA)  16/07 - 29/07      ENVI 25 VOLS
WORK: The monastery of Montserrat is a symbol of our country and a place of pilgrimage and worship for more than 2.500.000 persons a year but on spring 2000 there were very important floods that affected the monastery and the whole mountain. The work will be maintenance and conservation of the park, with special attention to paths (and their sides) and water canals, and to forest regeneration. We will also plant trees and work with sign posting and any sort of information to visitors.
Volunteers will work from 8,30 to 13,00 from Monday to Friday.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Discovering of the monastery and its surroundings (flora and fauna), visiting Montserrat Museum and Barcelona city. Workshops and trekking.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants will be lodged in the Monastery cells with all kind of facilities: kitchen, dinning room, toilets, showers, etc. The participants will be required to help with the cleaning-up and the maintenance.

CAT04 BADIA BADIA DEL VALLES 07/07 - 21/07 RENO 12 VOLS     BARCELONA
WORK: Badia del Valles is aa small city only 21 minutes far from Barcelona by train. The work will consist of several tasks related to the final arrangements of the local Youth Club, mainly some gardening, arrangements in the yard and specially painting all the building, following patterns designed by young local artists. The camp will be linked to an open young creators festival that will populate the youth club with their creations. We are talking then about a Camp absolutely integrated in the youth life of the municipality. The camp will include (in working time) activities on intercultural learning and a visit to immigration and antiracist associations in Barcelona.
Volunteers will work 6 hours every day from Monday to Friday.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: There will be an off-camp program organised by the participants and the camp leaders, including some excursions and visits to Barcelona. The participants will have free personal time mostly everyday from 17h on, and on weekends, depending on the program organised by them. Every night there will be activities at the Youth Club (Summer Program). The volunteers will have free access to the municipal sport centre, the swimming pool, cyber-room, library.
ACCOMMODATION: At the Youth Club (beds, shower, kitchen). There will be separated rooms for boys and girls.

CAT05 MONTSORIU CASTLE ARBUCIES (GIRONA) 22/07 - 04/08 ARCH 25 VOLS
WORK: Montsoriu castle and its workcamp is located in the Natural Park of Montseny, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and very near of the Costa Brava. It is a unique example of the military medieval architecture of Catalonia. The work will consist in the archaeological excavation of the second enclosure of the castle, began in the last years. This hard work will be combined with the cleaning and classification of the artefacts found. Also, you will have to collaborate in the cooking tasks, cleaning and maintenance of the camps. These tasks will be rotatory
Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: This year 2002, the castle celebrates its millenary and there will be some activities related to this event. During the afternoons and evenings there will be workshops, games, excursions related to archaeology, nature and the territory. During the weekends we will go to Arbucies. This will be done by foot in an excursion through a zone of special ecological interest. In Arbucies the volunteers will be able to go to the swimming pool, meet people of the village, go out at night and have fun.
ACCOMMODATION: The lodging will be at the castle. The bedroom will be shared by all volunteers and will be situated in a room of the castle furnished with bunk beds. The rest of installations will be outdoors and situated around the castle (toilets, shed / dinning-room, showers, kitchen). During the weekend, the accommodation will be in a building of the town council. Montsoriu's Castle is not situated near any town or village. It is at 6 km far from Arbucies en 4 km. from Breda.

CAT06 ELS SALATS TORREDEMBARRA (TARRAGONA)  18/07 - 31/07 ENVI 20 VOLS
WORK: Salats is one of the unique zone of dunes at the North of Delta de l'Ebre. Nowadays this area is visited for a lot of tourists during July and August who often damage it unconsciously. Our project pretends to improve the communication with these tourists and to educate people in environmental aspects. Our participants will help to maintain the zone by explaining to these tourists what's happening there and why it's important to treat in a great way the area. We are going to mix these activities with other in the spare time as conferences, talks, discussions, problems and solutions about environmental themes.
Working hours: Around 4-5 hours per day. Depending on the tasks and turns the work will be done during the morning or the afternoon, but the majority will be in the morning from 10h to 15h.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Interesting activities related to the work: the improvement and knowledge of environment, workshops, excursions.
ACCOMMODATION: At the Espolla Primary School with facilities like water, showers, toilettes, kitchen, electricity, etc.

CAT07 MONT-REBEI SANT ESTEVE DE LA SARGA (LLEIDA)   17/08 - 30/08  ENVI   25 VOLS
WORK: Territori i Passatge  Fundation tries to protect and improve the natural conditions of the fields and resources in Catalunya. This organisation wants to educate and to promote these values amoung young people. One of the places where Territori i Passatge works is in Congost del Mont-Rebei. The work camp is going to put in good conditions this space and to fix some old paths of the zone.
Volunteers will work around 4 - 5 hours per day.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: We will prepare common activities with the people who live there, we will visit interesting tourist places, etc.
ACCOMMODATION: The participants will sleep in tents inside the natural place with all the services guaranteed.

CAT08 SOLSONA SOLSONA (LLEIDA) 12/08 - 01/09 ENVI 25 VOLS
WORK: This project was born as a result of the fires, which the Solsones country suffered in 1998. What it intends to cover and study are the direct and indirect consequences of fire in a Mediterranean forest and in the Solsones area in particular, according to the effects in the environment and its inhabitants. The objectives are to carry out a research about the causes and effects of the fires, searching information in order to evaluate the consequences of the fires and to put into effect concrete actions of reforestation and help in affected zones.
Volunteers will work from 5 hours in the morning and 3 hours some afternoons.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Cycling, footpath, walking, rappel, attending villages festivals, shopping, riding horses, etc.
ACCOMMODATION: You will be located in a house in a small village site (Cambrils - Oden) in the north-west zone of the Solsones area, where country people live in farmhouses dispersed among great forest zones but not isolated.

CAT09 ALTA RIBAGORCA  EL PONT DE SUERT (LLEIDA) 03/08 - 20/08 ENVI 15 VOLS
WORK: This workcamp is located in the Middle of the Pyrenees, the mountain range between Spain and France. The project deals with the reconstruction of old paths in the area of Alta Ribagorça. The workcamp is organised to implement a big project in this wide zone: protecting nature and helping the locals to live more peacefully while collaborating with a conservation centre of otter. The work: cleaning and reconstruction of old mountain paths.
Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. to 17 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: There will be workshops, routes of nature through the National Park, canoeing,...
ACCOMMODATION: In a camping site 1 km. far from El Pont de Suert. The volunteers will sleep in tents.

CAT10 VAL D'ARAN BOSSOST (LLEIDA) 15/07 - 28/07 ENVI      25 VOLS
WORK: The paths in Vall d'Aran have some problems of maintenance because of the tourism, the bigger population and the lack of care so our job in this work camp will be the reconstruction of the "Deth Portero" path that goes from Gaussac to Bassa d'Oles. This will be the third time that Escoltes Catalans work in this area making people conscious of the importance of taking care of the nature. The typical works at the workcamp consist of the re-use of the old routes that, because of economical problems (the Valley has changed the cattle raising for tourism as a way of life), have been abandoned and destroyed.
Volunteers will work 4 - 5 hours per day.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: The extra activities will be excursions to discover de valley in its cultural, social and natural environs doing activities of exchange between the participants. Furthermore taking profit of the environment, they will meet the different characteristics, particular and single of this space (language, culture, fauna and flora).
ACCOMMODATION: In a refuge in the mountain with beds, showers, toilettes and kitchen.

WORK: Sant Maurici's Castle is one of the most ancient monuments in the Selva's Region (beginning of XI Th. Century), which needs working to restore the main structure. This will be the first time to work on this castle. "Clean" the Castle and the ancient church, delimitation of the areas to excavate (all the information will be recount with informatic system), make the plain of the Sant Maurici's Castle, redaction technical resume of the Sant Maurici's Work Camp.
Volunteers will work from 9.00 to 13.00 h.

CAT12 LA LLOSA CAMBRILS (TARRAGONA) 17/07 - 30/07 ARCH 25 VOLS
WORK: The work consists in going on with the excavation of the archaeological site at La Llosa, a Roman village and a salted product factory. New excavations will be made in non-explored sites as well as in other explored areas so as to deepen the structures. The work will be organised in rotating groups of 5 or 6 people. This way, all the participants will have the chance to know the steps of the archaeological process. We will put the emphasis on the learning of the archaeological techniques by the participants.
Volunteers will work from 8,00 to 14,00 from Monday to Friday.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Discovering of the village and its people, visit of the Historical Museum of Cambrils, Tarragona roman village, and of Barcelona. Workshops and trekking. We are close to the beach and there's so much things to do around there. In summer there's also popular parties and concerts to have fun.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants will be lodged at Marinada School, in Cambrils. The school has all kind of facilities: classrooms adapted as bedrooms, kitchen, dinning room, toilets, showers, etc. Participants will be required to help with the cleaning-up and the maintenance of the school.

CAT13 TARRACO - THE DEVIL'S BRIDGE TARRAGONA 16/07 - 29/07 ARCH 25 VOLS
WORK: Since last year 2000, UNESCO has declared Tarragona World Heritage because of its important archaeological and historic ruins. The romaine ruins are organised in a very developed city-plan and four different areas appear: the Via Augusta, the town, the necropolis and the amphitheatre. This workcamp is framed in a global project to preserve this heritage. The work will be developed in the Roman path that was built on the 1st. Century AD, which has been discovered a few months ago. Volunteers will excavate and clean the old roman pipes which supplied water to the "Devil's Bridge" aqueduct. Technical work will be co-ordinated by the "Devil's Bridge" Technician School.
Volunteers will work from 8,30 to 13,00 from Monday to Friday.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Discovery of Tarragona: old roman city, ramparts, port, Archaeological Museum, gothic cathedral. Also visit to Barcelona and workshops. We will visit El Serrallo, fisherman's neighborhood and some associations of the city.

CAT14 MONTGRI  TORROELLA DE MONTGRI (GIRONA)  01/08 - 14/08 ENVI 20 VOLS
WORK: Last summer, a fire affected the Montgri's massif north face. From then, some important cultural structures such as mediaeval paths and rural buildings appeared because of the burned vegetation. The aim of this project is to recover this place. There will be several different works to do: clearing the burned vegetation from interesting places, building refuges to encourage bird and small mammals life, inventorying the interesting cultural elements that appear, works to prevent erosion, etc.
Volunteers will work from 9 am to 13 pm (Monday to Friday).
FREE TIME: During the afternoon, there will be organised some cultural and leisure activities related to our natural environment and cultural heritage: sea-watching (snorkelling) to Medas islands, walk to the Montgri's castle (XIII century) and a Palaeolithic cave, astronomy night, guided visit to the medieval part of Torroella de Montgri and visit to the Museum, excursion to the littoral small rocky beaches, etc.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants will be accommodated in a very lovely house in the Montgri massif located 3 Km. from the village of Torroella de Montgri and 2 Km from l'Estartit. The place is called "Casa Forestal de les Dunes". It is very easy to get by car.

WORK: Les Planes de Son are part of the external zone of the Aigüestortes National Park, a natural environment made by river depletions which had developed into an ideal place for sheep and cows farming in natural conditions. The work camp will focus its activities in the execution of different projects on conditioning the place for the Fauna Centre and cleaning an ancient path that connects Les Planes de Son with the nearest villages.
Volunteers will work around 4-5 hours per day. Depending on the tasks and turns the work will be done during the morning or the afternoon, but the majority will be in the morning.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Ecomusem, National Park and work camp in Espot visits. Beach games, cultural exchanges with the participants and workshops.

WORK: This workcamp will take place in the so-called "Friars' Farm". This building was made to lodge the workers of the "Santes Creus" monastery during medieval ages. The Council of El Morell wants to recover the house and give it to the local youth as a meeting point for activities. Volunteers will clean the surroundings of the farm and renovate the area of arches. Also sign posting along the routes which go to the farm is needed.
Volunteers will work from 8,30 to 13,00 from Monday to Friday.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES: Discovery of the surroundings; El Morell, Santes Creus Monastery, Flora and fauna around Francoli river. Study the impact of a petrol factory near the farm. Visit Tarragona and Barcelona. Intercultural exchange with local youth.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- Traditional rebuilding: slab roof works. This way of doing the renovation will allow us to show young people the basic techniques  to rebuild the area, with stone walls and wood roofs and slab ends. Biological agriculture work: soil preparation, fertilization, sowing, planting vegetables and garden produce, fruit picking, irrigation, natural fertilizers and compost. Cattle raising and domestic animals:  feeding lamb and sanitary control, cut  the tail of the female sheeps that are pregnant. Harvesting and storing up  forage for winter time; fencing and cleaning the fields.
AIMS OF THE WORKCAMP.- Education of the environment through direct knowledge of our surroundings. Take part in the restoration tasks. To create a relaxed and distended atmosphere. LANDSCAPE/SURROUNDINGS.- Aineto is a small village in Serrablo county, situated in the Guarga valley. Abandoned in the 50's, and inhabited in 1980.  It is a mountain village, at 1000 metres high, with its houses, barns and  workshops outside the village, rebuilt in a traditional way: stone walls, wooden floors and slab roof.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- Preparation of an entertainment performance based on "new circus" technique by means of actors rehearsals, performance, atrezzo, clothing, light and sound. Performances in some villages within the area. Drainage and cleaning of the communal house ground floor. Clean, level, and pave with flagstones the village main streets leaving out  pipe lines register boxes. Clean and clear up a small square in a crossroad inside the village.
AIMS OF THE WORKCAMP.- To help in the rebuilding of Ibort village. To know  Ibort and its new life project. Living and working in a village, having a fun  time and realaxing with the neighbours. To create among the volunteers a true group spirit, encouraging friendships and exchanges between them. To encourage the intercultural action and fellowship among the participants and the monitors. To learn different construction techniques as well as different skills in the workshops.

ACCOMMODATION/FOOD.- In the Ibort Youth Hostel  Four rooms with six, eight and  ten bunk beds. Traditional and vegetarian menus are offered. Cooked by the volunteers under the supervision of a cook.
LANDSCAPE/SURROUNDINGS.- Ibort is a village located in the province of Huesca, next to the Pyrenees, in the "Serrablo" area, towards the South of the road joining Jaca to Sabi??nigo. It is placed in a small sheltered valley, open to
 the Southwest and about 860 metres altitude. It was abandoned in the 1960s. There are several houses within the village as  well as a well kept XVIII century church and seven wells. It has been being restored since 1986. It has got a population of 25 inhabitants and electricity and water supplies are available. There are some new pine woods (Pino Paricio) and natural flora in the outskirts of the village.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- To adequate the settings of the Virgen del Cantal Chapel, located in the open air on the outskirts of the villate, surrounded by centenary pine, cypress and olive trees, cleaning and tidying up. The paving that takes you to the chapel will be claned and the wooden talus will be fastened through the restoration of an old stoned small wall, likewise an old  sign posts roof situated in the access to the chapel like the Way of the Cross will be restored. Some stoned tables (picnic spot) would be recuperated or restored, some wooden benches, wooden handrails treated by pressure with preservatives ready for their installation in the open air would be installed.
 AIMS OF THE WORKCAMP.- To enrich from an environmental point of view the cultural and tourist settings of Virgen del Cantal Chapel (the cleaning and  tidying up of the recreational area, the installation of wooden handrails, tables, plantations) and restore a small wall or pavement to restrain the  land. To know the cultural park project, its performance, its activities and its proposals for the social-cultural and economic development. To value and protect the necessity of protection and conservation of the Spanish Historical Heritage located in the Cultural Park of the Martin River. To live together and get to know young people from different autonomous regions. To participate atively in the communication, co-operation and trust between all the participants to create a group atnomsphere.
OTHER ACTIVITIES.- Cultural routes visiting: The Tio Chula cave paintings and the Cueva Foradada dam. The Arches mountain route in Ari¤o, including: dinosaur footprint, the Baths,  the hanging bridge, Stone Age paintings, Christian medieval graves and the  Virgen de Arcos Chapel. Straits route wandering through the Martin river canyons in alzabate del Arzobispo, visiting different shelters with cave paintings. Nesting areas of  Tawny and Egyptian cultures, eagles and numerous similar species of birds. Cabezo San Pedro route, going up through the Martin river the pit of San Pedro will be visited. It is unique in Europe from the geological point of view than from an ecological one. The Cabezo de San Pedro, iberian fortress built in the III century b.c.  As a scientific complement to these excursions throughout the park, a visit to the Teruel province museum will take place where materials and objects extracted from the archaeological site will be contemplated.
Other playfull activities related with the open air, chess, five a side football, basketball, homemade video about all the jobs, community life and  activities.
PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS.- Young nature and rural environment lovers, who work voluntary and who, through the programmed activities are able to live side by side with other young people and get to know an attractive and  friendly area.
ACCOMODATION/FOOD.- Residence of the Interpretation Centre of rock art "Antonio Beltr?n" - C/ Tirso del Bolo, s/n - 44547-Ari?o (Teruel).  Accomodation in double rooms with bunk beds. It has big exibition rooms, offices, spacious library, meeting room with a small cafe and assembly room with big screen. Balanced diet based on the area's products, cooked by professionals in collaboration with the workcamp volunteers.
LANDSCAPE/SURROUNDINGS.- The Cultural Park of the Martin river delimits an area so that it enhances the great concentration of nature and cultural values. Situated in Arag?n, in the Northeast of Teruel province, the following villages being part of it: Montalb?n, Pe?asroyas, Torres de las Arcas, Obon, Alcaine, Alac?n, Ari?o and Albalate del Arzobispo. The village of Oliete is situated on a hill with hilly streets. Three arches give access to the old town, that used to be surrounded by a wall. Nowadays there are some remains of that wall. Around XVIII century, three open chapels were erected above the arches. The church is a baroque building from XVII century and the church tower is from XVIII century. There are other peculiar  patrimonial places worth being pointed out like the renaissance front in the church square or Donjuana's house, the San Bartolome's hermitage, or narrow  streets and alleys with baroque caves and aragoneses galleries. The vewpoint  over the Martin river from the Pilar Park or the Interpretation Centre of rock art in the cultural park of the Martin river are outstanding.

REGION.- Region of Arag?n. Province of Zaragoza.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- Recognition of the workcamp and its objectives with common initiatives. Evaluation of the steps to take after the meticulous way  in which the construction es excavated. Works on cleaning (making a special point of this), tidying up and signposting the medieval location as well as reconstructing the places of interest. Elaborate the final study about all the activities based on the daily reports made by the technical team.
AIMS OF THE WORKCAMP.- Recondition "the moor construction", and old moors building located on the outskirts of Fundetodos, to put it into effect as a valuable historic place of the town as well as its surroundings, proposals for its conservation and documented study. Create a true spirit between the group of volunteers, promoting the relationships and exchanges between them and the villagers. Arouse an interest between them to know all the customs, traditions and the different way sof life with mutual respect. To become acquainted with and visit the regional area. Get used to tidying up, cleaning, etc. outside the family circle. To promote an attitude towards physical exercise resulting in a healthy life. To create a relaxed atmosphere developing a good job.
OTHER ACTIVITIES.- Cultural visits. Engraving workshops. Leisure activities and sports in general. Excursions to Belchite, Muel, Azuara, Herrera, Villar   Trekking to get to know places and the picturesque countryside of Fuendetodos.  PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS.- Young people interested in archaeology, also its relationship with nature and the environment, of any origin, who work voluntary and who, through the programmed activitis are able to live side by side with other young people in an intercultural and tolerant environment, enjoying a pleasant, entertaining and mutually binding experience.
ACCOMODATION/FOOD.- In the Municipal Youth Hostel. Paseo de Vista Alegre, s/n - 50142-Fuendetodos (Zaragoza). The hostel has all kinds of services available but it is recommended to take a sleeping bag, cup and comfortable clothing for working. There are dormitories of 4, 6, 8 and 10 beds, with showers and communal toilets. There are also disabled rooms. Beside the hostel there is a swimming pool suitable for free time use. Mediterranean diet, mixed and balanced, adapted to the season and the area's products. The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen and it will be attended to by the hostel's staff.
LANDSCAPE/SURROUNDINGS.- Fuendetodos is a village with around 200 inhabitants, which is part of the Belchite region and the Belchite community association. But Fuendetodos village is also known as the birth place of the immortal Francisco de Goya. Situated at altitude of 700 metres, it has a very important network of rural paths, and trekking and touring by bicycle are notorious in this area. Very close to the villages of Belchite (ancient village, Pueyo Monastery), Muel (Ceramic, Goya paintings, etc.). Fuendetodos offers above all a cultural alternative to see the house where Goya was born, the Engraving Museum, with original Goya prints, the Antonio Saura engraving studio and his  ethnological heritage, with la Nevera de la Culroya and la Fuente Vieja, which give the village its name.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- We will do an intensive theatre course, based on the comedy of art and mime, developing some stories (about domestic violence)  which we will play in different parks and other places; we will try to catch the citizens' attention about this problem. The ignorance, being excluded, the lack of culture, etc. are repetitive violent acts in our society.
AIMS OF THE WORKCAMP.-General: To constitute an international group. To learn theatre and work in the theatre. To present Zaragoza as a lively city, modern, open and tolerant. Specific: To get to know each other and get to know people from different countries. To do theatre workshop with a common aim. To play theatre in Zaragoza. To attract the attention of the citizens about the problem of the domestic, physical and psychological abuse in women, old people and children. To help pursue Zaragoza's historical tradition as a tolerant city. The theatre course will be given in english. Translations will be given when necessary.
OTHER ACTIVITIES.- Stilts, puppet workshop, etc. Plays throughout the city with our own ideas. Guided visits of different museums, historical buildings of the city. Excursions to the surrounding area of the city to visit some natural interest places.
PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS.- Young people linked to theatre, since all the activities of the workcamp are concerned directly with theatre: expression, mime, music, art, comedy, trivial dances, etc. It is very recommended to have an acceptable level of english, that will be a vehicle and a communication tool.
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD.- Youth Residence Baltasar Graci?n - C/ Franco y L?pez, 4 - 50005-Zaragoza. Rooms for two, four or eigh people. Mediterranean diet mixed  and balanced.
LANDSCAPE/SURROUNDINGS.- Zaragoza is the fifth bigest city in Spain, with a population of about 640.000 inhabitants. It is the capital of Arag?n, where half of the Aragonese inhabitants live. Zaragoza is a bimillenary city (founded in the year 24 b.c.). It is located in a very strategic point of the Iberian peninsula, in the centre of the north-east in the Ebro valley. Because of its geographical location, Zaragoza has had between its populations people like Iberians, Celtics, Romans, Muslims, Jewish or Visigoths. A great number of historic buildings evoke the two thousand years of the city, from the roman ruins to the remains of a great muslim palace or the mudejar churches. Nowadays Zaragoza is a modern city with big commercial activity and an intensive night life, especially at the weekends. Its location in the centre of Arag?n makes it possible that in just one day, the traveller can visit the sea, the Ebro Valley, the desert (Monegros), the pre-Pyrenees, famous for tis canyons, and the Pyrenees with its perpetual snow or the Iberian mountains with an uncountable number of medieval villages.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- Study and investigation of the historic, artistic and industrial heritage. The objective is to recover the original itinerary named "paso de las reliquias" (path of the relics), between Villamarcel and Arrojo. The work will consist in studying and making a catalogue of the elements that make up the historic, artistic and industrial heritage that are found near the path.

Cleaning and reconstruction of frangmentary materials. The excavations will be guided by professionals of the University of Barcelona and coordinated by Mr. Vicen? Llull, professor of Prehistory.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- Renovation works in several buildings in the center "Pueblo Navapalos", in order to make known the autoctonous technics of  construction. Recovery the landscape of the area.

 natural environments: Ca??n del r?o Lobos, Laguna Negra, marsh Cuerda del
 Pozo. Visits to the small towns: Burgo de Osma, Castillo de Gormaz and Vilde.
