WORK: These three workcamps are the 4th edition of the “Ecoart” project, realised yearly since 1999. It takes inspiration from initiatives already realised within an international environment by YAP Italy and local partners and foresees the realisation of a series of artistic performances in the area of the Iblei Mountains, near Syracuse, in Sicily. The subject of this camp is the relation between man and earth, intended in the sense of deep cultural matrix of every community. Through the comparison among different cultures and artistic expressions, we want to propose a new kind of relation with the environment and the territory, to enhance the resources and promote the development following sustainable economical models that guarantee its recovery, its safeguard and its conscious use. The young volunteers will have preferably followed an artistic school, or developed artistic attitudes, since they will have to realise initiatives and performances in particularly significant places, related to the themes and goals of the project, by guaranteeing all the project long a free cultural and artistic path which could be accessible to the local population and tourists.
