GR 6.2 PAKEFYKA 01/09-15/09 10
vols
PAKEFYKA is a center for the
promotion of Natural or Do-Nothing Farming, an
agricultural method based on the
teachings of Masanobu Fukuoka. Fukuoka, a Japanese ex-plant pathologist,
came to the realisation that the effort to master Nature through the means
of science is an illusion because human knowledge, in contrast to Nature,
is limited and imperfect. Therefore, the goal of farming is to serve
and imitate Nature and to avoid human intervention, be it with chemicals
or with "biological" means, as much as possible. Proponents of this method
claim that, through mixing and sowing a large variety of seeds and avoiding
any extra intervention (plowing, weeding, fertilising etc), one can cultivate
or reforest large areas with minimum costs and effort.
W: mainly helping in the preparation
of seeds and in sowing fields and reforestation areas. In addition,
