The municipality of Beauzac already hosted, ten years ago, two
international workcamps, also dealing with the development of the
chapel of Fraisse-Bas. The youth club and local associations of the
village will cooperate in the hosting of the group and help with the
organisation of various animations.#
#
Work #
The chapel of Fraisse-Bas (cf. Internet site of the municipality) is a
splendid building of roman style built in the XIIème century. Located
outside the village (at about 3/4 km - volunteers will be driven
there) the small chapel dominates a narrow valley. This site, isolated
in the forest, is the subject of a legend about hidden gold and - more
simply - a place for walks, that the inhabitants of the village
appreciate a lot. You will be guided by the communal employee who
already worked with the preceding workcamps, as well as members of the
association that restores the chapel.
You will work on the access path to the site, on the inside of the
chapel (masonry : redoing of plaster between stones) and possibly for
the roof restoration.#
